Muse is curating collections from creative design partners focused on operating sustainably and creating sustainable products that are part of the circular economy and/or made to order individually or in small batches to reduce waste. Our goal is to provide the ability to co-design durable, long-lasting quality items to a customer's specific design aesthetic to facilitate creations worn for years to come.
Our made-to-order Design Partners customise beautiful items for our customers individually, opening a world of customisation across complimentary product categories allowing customers to collaborate through Muse, and express their own individuality sustainably. Design Partners who do not make to order, create with sustainability at the forefront of their business.
Muse is working with its approved design partners to model a pathway to sustainability in procurement with a focus on sustainable management, materials and making and the ability to re-make through recycling, up-cycling, reusing and using recycled, regenerative and renewed resources where possible Muse aims to support its design partners to achieve these practiced throughout its supply chain.

Service to Customers, service to Design Partners, service to Community and the Environment. Service is at the heart of all we do.
Service to Customers; Muse will curate brands on an authentic path to sustainability, vetted by Muse and presented in a simple, transparent manner to demystify the myriad of claims in the marketplace that can be at times misleading.
Service to our Design Partners; Muse will work with Design Partners to help create more sustainable items and support them to obtain recognised third party accreditations to certify their achievements, and promote their business.
Service to Community; Muse will support artisan businesses whose products align with the sustainability goals and whose businesses support their families and community as they grow. Service to Community extends to brands with a local community giveback, including donations made on sales to verified causes.
Service to Environment; Muse has a nature positive focus and joins the recently established Nature Positive Initiative with goals to achieve Nature Positive by 2030. Muse holds a strong belief that nature improvements go hand in hand with climate improvements and will focus on being carbon neutral from inception.
Social Impact
We prioritise doing the right thing by people and the planet, ensuring fair payment for items sustainably produced that minimise impact on the earth's resources. We will support sustainable makers to grow and become successful sustainable enterprises for the future, employing and supporting more diverse teams in their communities.

We bring our business expertise to the world of customisation and e-commerce, developing a pathway to sustainability, providing transparency across our Design Partner's operations and products, redefining what is possible in an ethical transparent manner, one brand at a time.
Sustainable Materials
Transparency on the quality of the yarn, dye and production is imperative to a more sustainable future in textiles and material procurement.
"Sustainable Materials" is a term often used to group various environmentally friendly materials and several fabrics have garnered the 'sustainable' label for different reasons. Muse appreciates that this term has been 'widely and sometimes not responsibly' used by some, and will be transparent on components used to produce creations through Muse.
But just as sustainability is a moving target, so are fabrics and other materials - and no one fabric or material can do it all - yet!
The hope is that, through responsible production and environmental growing practices, we can create a more transparent fashion industry, allowing customers to readily make responsible decisions that align with their own & Muse's values.
Sustainable Making
All our Brand Partners are committed to sustainability, are passionate about creating the perfect product that suits you, and in ensuring their pieces last for you. Muse shares stories with customers giving insight into our Brand Partner's way of designing and making to provide further transparency and inspiration.
Sustainable making includes understanding the supply chain, and ensuring that all aspects of the process of producing items for Muse are analysed, with future goals identified, to be on the pathway to sustainability.
Sustainable Measurability
Muse will report on climate & nature implications together, given their extreme impact on each other.
There have been many different standards in operation as the world grapples with cohesive sustainability reporting systems. Muse believes in reporting on a 'double materiality' basis which means reporting on sustainability from a financial perspective, as well as reporting and providing transparency on the impact of Muse's operations on the planet.
From a financial perspective, Muse will report using International Financial Reporting Standards developed in conjunction with the International Sustainability Standards Board, as localised for Australian statutory reporting. These standards have built on the frameworks from the Taskforce for Climate Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) with the soon to be issued Taskforce for Nature Related Financial Disclosures (TNFD). From the perspective of Muse's impact on the planet, Muse aims to be both Nature Positive and Climate Positive by 2030. This will require additional measurement and reporting to demonstrate benefit to the planet overall, including climate, nature & people (including human rights). This increases accountability and transparency on Muse and our Design Partners contribution to sustainable development. The Pathway
to Sustainability
The Muse platform consists of two sustainable pathways;
- brands who have a focus on small batch, highly sustainable products, and
- brands that utilise the unique Muse configurator to make individual products to order.
The configurator allows the ultimate in customer selection, ensuring that each product is made specifically to an individual's choice of design options. These customisations include the types of materials, design options, embellishments and fit options for that product. The example skirt on the configurator page shows how a customer can design their product in 3D, and 'flick' between different fabrics, linings and design details such as the waterfall feature, bow or faux pockets and the fit can vary from very fitted to relaxed. As the product is made to order, the circle of making to the customer's chosen design is a sustainable way of making, reducing waste on excess quantities of items ending up in landfill, increased transport impacts of returns and the resultant impact on emissions.
Each piece becomes a cherished, unique item for the long term.
What We Provide
We provide simple steps to assist brands on their pathway to sustainability. We support our design partners to grow their business. Our goal is to increase the number of sustainability operated organisations.
Assessment of Brands
We assess suitability of brands based on their philosophy and values, as well as their practices. Muse amplifies individual brand ethos whilst bringing a unified collective to market providing ease of selection of sustainably made products for Muse customers.

We work with brands to establish the best product and customisation options to onboard to the Muse Configurator or to the retail platform. We support brands on the pathway to Sustainability.
